My weekend of Indian-inspired eats continued with this delicious mango-mint smoothie I cooked up. It is very similar to a popular Indian drink called a lassi, which is a traditional yogurt-based drink. Mango-flavored lassis are also very popular, so this is my spin on that.
Mint and mango complement each other perfectly, and create a refreshing smoothie together with tangy yogurt.
- 3/4 cup of frozen mango
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1 cup milk (Cow’s or non-dairy of your choice)
- 1/3 cup plain nonfat yogurt
In a blender, layer the ingredients starting with the mint, then mango, then milk and finally yogurt. Blend until smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add more milk or water to thin it out to your preferred consistency. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
